Community Support

Gas Maraetai is proud to support our local community.

Avid fishers themselves, Liz and Mike are huge supporters of the local fishing and boating clubs.

They are passionate about supporting kids in our local community.

They love encouraging kids to get out on the water around Maraetai and beyond to fish and discover the joy of ‘landing a big one’.  This can be seen on their Brag Board, located just at the entrance of the store!

Over the past decade, they have sponsored numerous fundraisers and events including:

• Canfish – this local event organises a day out fishing for kids affected by cancer.
• Kids fishing competitions including Reel Girls
• 2023 Beachlands Chartered Club Kids Fishing Competition
• Clevedon Game Fishing Club
• One Base Game Fishing Competition
• Fish’n Chicks Ladies Fishing Competitions
• Maraetai Beach School fundraisers by way of donations and prizes

Recently, they have sponsored the Maraetai Beach Bowling Club by way of donating prizes for special events.

They regularly donate fishing tackle as prizes to local fundraisers and get involved at a personal level at events, often participating in some of the adult fishing competitions themselves!
